Consistency and permission in deontic justification logic

چکیده
Abstract Different notions of the consistency obligations collapse in standard deontic logic. In justification logics, which feature explicit reasons for obligations, situation is different. Their strength depends on a constant specification and available set operations combining different reasons. We present principles logic compare their logical strength. propose novel semantics logics with version axiom D, $\textbf {jd}$, are complete arbitrary specifications. Consistency sometimes formulated terms permission. therefore study permission context logic, introducing notion free-choice first time. then discuss philosophical implications regard to some paradoxes.

Deontic Logic and Deontic Goals in the Wason Selection Task
Domain-specific approaches of the Wason selection task (WST) have postulated specifically adapted schemas or Darwinian algorithms and abandoned a normative concept of rationality. We propose a flexible deontic logic theory (FDL theory), which is domain-specific but normative. The test of a prescriptive rule does not involve testing its truth, as in the standard WST, but rather selecting cases i...
متن کاملDeontic Logic
The chapter is organized in ten sections, each of them presenting a fundamental issue or problem in the area of deontic logic. Section 10.2 is about the issue of norms and truth, i.e., whether norms should have truth value. It opposes deontic logic viewed as a logic of normative propositions to deontic logic viewed as a logic of imperatives. Section 10.3 deals with the problem of contrary-to-du...
متن کاملImperatives and Deontic Logic
Deontic logic has so far been almost exclusively interpreted by a possible worlds semantics and ideality or preference relations between the worlds. In distinguishing itself from attempts at a logic of norms or logic of imperatives, deontic logic has portrayed its formulas as ‘deontic propositions’, true or false statements about what is obligatory, permitted or forbidden according to some unsp...
متن کاملCommunication and Deontic Logic
In a normative system many of the obligations, prohibitions and permissions exist as a result of communication with users and/or other systems. In this paper we will discuss the role of illocutionary logic and deontic logic in modelling these communication processes and the resulting norms. The combination of illocutionary and deontic logic can be used to reason about communication structures. ...
متن کاملDeontic Logic and Preference Change
The normative realm involves deontic notions such as obligation or permission, as well as information about relevant actions and states of the world. This mixture is not static, given once and for all. Both information and normative evaluation available to agents are subject to changes with various triggers, such as learning new facts or accepting new laws. This paper explores models for this s...
